The Barons Palace Hotel in Oudtshoorn reveals to her guests an era of affluence and opulence. The Hotel was built at the turn of the century by a wealthy Ostrich Baron. The warm furnishings, large airy rooms, wooden staircase and huge log fires in Winter evoke memories of the bygone Victorian era, when the ostrich feather trade was at its height.
Ascending the staircase to the sweeping reception rooms and vast veranda, guests can imagine the lavish entertaining that took place at the time.
Baron's Palace comprises of 31 en-suite apartments, each of which is equipped with a telephone and colour TV. 24 of the air conditioned rooms open onto the swimming pool. Other facilities include an a la-carte restaurant, a Bistro and a bar. Conferences are catered for in two seperate venues. The hotel is well-positioned to explore the many attractions of Oudtshoorn, including the Cango caves, the Feather Palace Museum and the ostrich farms. Ample secure parking is available. The Baron's Palace hotel consists out of two uniques sections. The original hotel is perfectly maintained and used on a daily basis with a tradional victorian feel.
This portion of the hotel is stright out of a bygon area with large rooms, exsensive use of wood and is situated in the original sandstone building dating back to 1872. The majestic old staircase lead to the first floor where we have nine rooms on offer:
Honeymoon Suite.
The Honeymoon suite is a very large and spacious room with a double bed, sitting area an en-suite bathroom equipped with a spa bath and a shower. Private balcony.
Pool Rooms.
24 Pool rooms are part of the newer addition to the Baron's Hotel and build around the Pool Area.
These rooms have a sleeping area and a loft area and are all en-suite with showers, aircons.
