Discover the unique beauty of this mountain range in the Klein Karoo and allow nature to refresh mind, body and soul.
Mountain Pastures Game Lodge lies snuggly in the De Hoop valley between the Kouga and Honniball mountains, far from the madding crowd but convenient for the popular R62 route and only 18 kilometers from Uniondale.
Surrounded by the beauty of the mountain ranges, just allow nature to refresh your mind, body and soul.
Relax and enjoy a crisp morning game drive with the beauty of the rising African sun as a backdrop. Fish for bass and watch or be watched by our inquisitive Eland, Zebra and Springbuck. There is a good chance of seeing Black Eagles rising on thermals and you may also see our Blue Cranes, now rare, raising their young.
In the afternoon, take a trip to see the majestic Buffalo, elusive Lynx or, if you are really fortunate, the scarcely seen, phantom-like Leopard.
The energetic walker can hike the mountains on foot, others can ride our horses. On such an excursion you will appreciate the huge variety of fynbos and you might possibly spot some of the smaller mammals which inhabit the bush.
Come and discover the beauty and serenity of this pristine wilderness area while enjoying the comfort of our well appointed, catered-for chalets or the self catering San Valley Lodge.
After a hard day of sightseeing, game viewing and relaxing, you will be treated to a delicious meal, prepared the traditional South African way (real "Boerekos").
Just a few hundred metres from the R62 on the Uniondale road, or 18 kilometres from Uniondale, is a turn-off onto a gravel road marked De Hoop. A few minutes' drive down this road and you will see Mountain Pastures Game Lodge on your right.
